I would very much like the ability to write posts in draft mode and schedule their publishing for a later time, that later operation to be completed by the cron job schedululer.

Hi!

You can already post future-publish posts just by setting their time to the future. No need to use the 'Draft' then, it will only show up once the time has been reached
