Since we both can not reproduce this issue with the Umlauts, we can not do anything about this.

All Umlauts and other special characters are shown as they should be.
Ok, then I can just hope that the error disappears when I put my site online

(At the moment it's still on my local server)
One last question, are you planing on continuing the development of this plugin? (i.e. showing gallery2 images in the s9y media library...)
Thanks again for all the support and effort to make the plugin work correctly

PLUGIN REQUEST:
A basic forum function. It doesnt have to be a phpbb kind of forum, but a feedback version that is not the guestbook and not a commentary to specific entries. We discussed this before in the german language forum in
thisthread.
This would be great. Maybe with the option that only registered users can read/write.

just begun to write such a plugin. But this will take a bit more time than the other plugins I've written.
Btw. it is very controversial if such a plugin is really needed and should be written. I don't think, that s9y really needs such a plugin because s9y is and should be still only a blog and not a multimedia-center.

And there are really more than enough free discussion forum software which can be used.
But well... it seems that many people want such a plugin and so I just begun to write this.

Well, thats why its a plugin and not a full feature, right? If you dont want it or dont need it, dont install it. But S9Y has such a fine plugin-engine, very userfriendly and why not have a forum plugin as well? It´s kind hard to get something like phpbb to work with s9y, and Id like to have a forum, but I dont have the time and the skills to get this to work.
I really appreciate your work, and the possibility to request plugins is another reason why s9y is so great. Garvin made plugins for me/us before and I really want to say thanks for that.
Dont mind if this takes a while, its a request, but is not really something with very high priority. Ill be in Austria the whole next week, but I can wait even longer. That CMS discussion thread in the german forum is some month old too, but still valid.

punbb works with nucleuscms. perhaps its not hard to get it integrated with s9y.
phpbb is a security ridden bloat.

View and test the forum plugin here:

If there won't appear some huge problem in the next hours, maybe days, then I'll release this initial version very soon.
All further features and stuff will be added then after the first initial release soon.
Please test this forum and report any bugs you can find!

Request: Latest Trackbacks

Plugin Request:
I would like to have a sidebar plugin, which shows the latest trackbacks to the Blog. I've seen this feature in wordpress, and I would really appreciate having it in serendipity, too.
Regards,
Jürgen

Jürgen:
The plugin "Display the last comments to your entries" (serendipity_plugin_comments) already shows trackbacks. It can be enhanced easily to configure which type of comments you want to display; I've just committed version 1.3 of that plugin. You can find it here:
http://nopaste.php-q.net/163500
Just download that and overwrite your serendipity_plugin_comments.php file with that one, and look at the configuration of the plugin to set that you only want to see trackbacks.

Garvin

Thanks for that advice Garvin - was not aware, that this was already possible. Will try as soon as I get FTP-Access to my homepage again.
