I am interested in downloading some plugins. The site says "After you have installed Spartacus...." but I can't find "Spartacus" to load! I am assuming that I have missed something along the way.
HELP!

Re: newbie: WHERE is Spartacus?
Hi!
"Spartacus" is a name for our core plugin repository. There are actually two ways of accessing it.
One es the one-click-install way, like the Typo3 Repository. For this to work, you install the event plugin "Spartacus" that comes with serendipity. Just log in to your installation, go to "configure plugins", click on "click here to install an event plugin", scroll down to the spartacus plugin and click the install button. Then you can leave the default configuration, and simply re-trace the steps to install a plugin. This time, Spartacus should kick in, download some files, and offer you a lot more of plugins to install. For this to work, note, that your serendipity /plugins directory needs to be writable (i.e. 777) to allow to store plugins inside that directory.
There are scenarios in which your server provider does not allow Spartacus to function. So if you get any errors, you still have the second way to obtion a plugin: go to http://spartacus.s9y.org/ and download the plugins you like manually as a ZIP file, unzip them, upload them via FTP to your serendipity /plugins directory.

Re: newbie: WHERE is Spartacus?
Thanks, much, Garvin.
Hey. While I have your attention, any chance for an English version of the Serendipity book?

Hi!
I believe there are currently no plans of the german publisher to translate the book. Of course if enough people wrote to OpenSourcePress and asked for an english version, that might be subject to change...![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: newbie: WHERE is Spartacus?
Will do. I am sure that you have a good following in Germany but, in addition, if the book was in English, well........
