1.3 to 1.4.1 upgrade does not appear in admin!

I have followed the installation instructions in the FAQ, but when i log into admin i do not see the upgrade option.

Please advise...

Hi!

DId you check your FTp upload tool that all files were properly transfered?

When you login to the admin interface, which version numbers occurs at the bottom of it? If it says 1.4.1, the upgrade has been executed. If it says 1.3, you have not copied the serendipity_config.inc.php file...

thanks dude, i'll check for that file and try to upload it again.

it currently says 1.3, so nothing happened, perhaps that last file never got written.

I have the same problem - after uploading all the new file for version 1.4.1 nothing changes.
I do not see an Update-Button and the version number I see is still the old one (1.0.1 - I had quite some time no update).

I am sure that I uploaded all the files which were in the ZIP-File, deleted several time all my Temps and Cookies, so this should not be the problem.

Someone knows what to do in this case?

Hi!

fF you still see 1.0.1, then you did not overwrite all files! Check your FTP transfer programm for possible errors, maybe some files did not transfer due to write privileges. Usually, at least the serendipity_config.inc.php file was not writable.

and just so there is no misunderstanding, there is no "update button".... once all files have been transferred, the first time your blog's address is visited will initiate the upgrade.

@Don Chambers - good to know, that there will be no upgrade bitton. That was then a misunderstanding from what I read in the other treads for this topic.

@Garvin - I attach you a screenshot from the main folder. As you can see at least the serendipity_config.inc.php for sure was updated. I'll try again to overwrite all the files now.

I still see the NEWS file of serendipity 1.0.1, so to me it seems like you might not be overwriting the right directory?!

hmmm, I do not understand this - my version on the server is this one from yesterday, now again updated:


I will now copy the files folder by folder and see if it works afterwards. Maybe its the browser not refreshing all the files when I open my blog.

Hi!

It cannot be the browser, as I have never opened your site yet - so the NEWS file when I opened it this morning was an old file.

I cannot view the contents of PHP files on your server, but if s9y still embeds the 1.0.1 version inside the HTML output it can only mean that serendipity_config.inc.php is NOT properly updated, because this is the file that the version string is pulled from.

The only other reason would be if the templates_c/ directory is no longer writable for PHP, you might want to check that by deleting all files inside that directory (or at least the *tpl.php* files).

After deleting the templates_C files it worked out!
Now I have 1.4.1
