Default Author Group Membership

I'm currently using the "User Self Registration" plugin so that only registered users can comment. The problem is that when users self registered, they are given "Standard Editor" rights. I don't want them to be able to create posts, only comments. I've created a custom Group Membership, called Commentor, which completely limits their access. I'd like all new Self Registered members to be assigned this Group Membership by default. What's the best way to handle this?

Ok, I've figured it out. I learned that for some plugins, there are actually two edit screens, one for Sidebar, and one for Events. The settings I was looking for were available via the plugin configuration.
