My blog comes up high in Google for my keyword. Unfortunately it links to a useless page:

How can I put a redirect on this or have this page be of some use?
Thanks!

Re: How can I redirect a page?
Hi!
You can't, because Google ranks this page as the highest one. You don't have an influence about that actually. You can't tell google which one of your pages should be used, I think.
Maybe you can check out the google sitemap plugin, this might improve the situation for you. But it might also decrease your ranking, because when using the sitemap, your whole indexing behaviour is changed.

Garvin

If you redirect that page, it will decrease in its ranking and you might not have your URL for the keyword in the list at all anymore. How can I put a redirect on this or have this page be of some use?

You could use a robots.txt file to block that from google's index, but then you will lose your google ranking for a specific keyword.
To print out some content on the archive, you need to just post more. Right now there are 8 entries and by default 10 print out per archive page. Once there are more posts then that page will start to fill up.

Hi!
What do you want to do now? But some extra HTML on that page?
Regards,
Garvin
Of course you can put content on that page! But that was not your original question.hudson-valley-dad wrote:I would like to hear if anyone else has any suggestions too. This is a problem. There must at least be a way for me to put some content on this page: index.php?/archives/P2.html
thanks

Re: How can I redirect a page?
As I said before I would ideally send the user to different page but if not I would like the page to be useful to the user (something on it).hudson-valley-dad wrote: How can I put a redirect on this or have this page be of some use?
But now that I know it is just an archive issue I will get new posts up there asap and that should do the trick.
Thanks

Hi!
But you seem to have understood that dynamic issue, so I hope you'll be able to work with it what you need

But as I wrote, if you chagne the content of that page, your pagerank will change! There is no way to work around this. If you change the page, google will rank /archives/P3.html higher, for example. As I said before I would ideally send the user to different page but if not I would like the page to be useful to the user (something on it).
