Hey Guys,
I am not quite sure why, but any links in comments on my site do not work. I probably changed some anti-spam setting to enable this and now I cant find a way to enable it.
I just moved the Textile plugin from near the bottom to the top hoping that it would solve the issue; no such luck.
At the moment the following happens:
http://example.com prints the full url in pure text
<a href="http://example.com">example</a> prints example
What I would like is both of the above examples to print out properly.
Setting: Make external links clickable? -- currently set to Yes, changed to No without seeing a difference.
plugin list:
1. Markup: Textile
2. Markup: Serendipity
3. Browser Compatibility
4. HTML Validator
5. Custom Permalinks for Entries
6. Spartacus
7. Autosave entries
8. Static Pages
9. Fix common XHTML errors
10. Extended options for media manager
11. Highlight search queries
12. Sitemap Generator (for Crawlers)
13. Announce entries
14. Typeset/Extended Buttons for non-WYSIWYG editors
15. QuickNotes
16. Lightbox/Thickbox JS/Graybox
17. Spam Protector (SURBL)
18. Spam Protector
19. Searches comments on quicksearch
20. Trackback-Control
21. [Display RSS-Feed in Backend Overview]
22.Contact Form
23. Extended properties for entries
If you would like to test exactly what the site is doing please leave a comment on this post: http://zacgarrett.com/permalink/s9y_comments.html
Thanks,
Zac

I've put them both in the inactive category and the issue still exists. I am wondering if this is an issue with using the latest beta version of s9y.RiCkY wrote:Try deactivating for a while
17. Spam Protector (SURBL)

I've enabled both of the plugins again because spam is evil. haha
Thanks,
Zac

Re: Enable Links in Comments
Hi!
Short answer: You can't.
Long answer: Any HTML is stripped from your visitors comments, because HTML is inherently evil when mixed with JAvascript. Thus s9y denies all HTML.
Workaround: Use a markup like BBCOde which offers you \... tags for your visitors. I believe Textile has something similar, but I have no experience with Textile.

Hey,
I completely understand why you scrap out all HTML. Javascript is just plain evil.
I was playing around with the textile plugin for a little while and could not get it to function properly in comments. I am not quite sure why, but when I type in http://blah.com it does not link like the textile generator does.
I've given up on just linking via plain text. I've installed the BBCode plugin and it works like a charm. I believe I had this installed a long while ago, but got rid of it for some random reason.
Problem resolved, thanks.
