I'm trying out a new workflow from my Mac by FTP-ing images to my host directly from my photo manager (Aperture 1.5).
Got the images there via FTP, no problem, permissions are ok on the jpgs on the host side (rw,r,r)... but when I create a new blog entry and try to add the file it does not show up even if I manually enter the filename ([Media]->Select file to insert).
I think this has to do with how serendipity adds images and creates thumbnails, etc. The usual "Add media" method works fine. I have hundreds and hundreds of images there already so rebuilding thumbs won't work.
Any tips and suggestions?
BTW- I've been using serendipity for some time... (thanks to all you guys and gals for the great posts/howtos) this is my first post.
When you upload images via FTP into your folder, the images are not known to the mediadatabase.
You will need to click the "Rebuild Thumbnails" button in the admin menu to re-check the files you uploaded via FTP.
If you use a recent s9y version, you can also enable the "On The Fly" media database feature, which will synchronize your FTP upload directory with the database every time you access it.
