I have a Blogger blog I'd like to import to s9y. I looked at the current import option, and it appears to be for the original layouts rather than the new Blogger. Is this correct? I would like to "keep" the current blog intact during the cut-over process - I really don't want to replace my current template with the one listed, and I certainly don't want to replace a new Blogger template with an original.
So, it looks to me like my best option is to "save" a copy of my current feed and then upload it using the generic RSS feed option. Does that sound like a good plan? Is that a one-shot deal, or can it be done over again if need be?
I guess either way any labels will have to be converted to categories by hand.
Thanks,
Wally

Re: Blogger Import?
Hi!
You can redo the imports by just emptying the serendipity_entries and serendipity_entrycat tables.

Right. But you can still use the old blogger templates to be able to put the code of the importer in there.wwday3 wrote:I have a Blogger blog I'd like to import to s9y. I looked at the current import option, and it appears to be for the original layouts rather than the new Blogger. Is this correct?
Then sadly the import as described is not possible for you.I would like to "keep" the current blog intact during the cut-over process - I really don't want to replace my current template with the one listed, and I certainly don't want to replace a new Blogger template with an original.
Yes, you could do that. But the generic import does not import categories, authors and comments. It only imports entries in the RSS feed. If your RSS feed does not contain full texts and only excerpts, you would only have excerpts after the import. So, it looks to me like my best option is to "save" a copy of my current feed and then upload it using the generic RSS feed option. Does that sound like a good plan? Is that a one-shot deal, or can it be done over again if need be?
