Create static pages/link static page to an entry

Post by koltregaskes »

Hello,

I can't get this to work, I've set it up to have a test static page (http://www.squashyfrog.com/blog/pages/test.html), I've put in the full URL for the page when creating the static page but its not there when I enter the URL into my browser. Do I need to create the folder and page via FTP first?

It would be much easier if I could have the static page as existing entries, so perhaps www.squashyfrog.com/blog/pages/article.html would go to one of my already written articles. Is this possible? I see there is a l'ink to entry' when creating a static page but I click on this and get a blank window.

Hi!

In your staticpage URL you must NOT enter the full URL, only enter the path:

/blog/pages/test.html

No static files are created, the URL is served from the database.

If you want articles to show up on special URLs, have a look at the "Custom Permalinks" plugin!

Best regards,
Garvin
