Parent Category

Post by lindau »

My blog is at http://www.cert-la.com/blog/

The parent category LAFD Battalions sucks in all the entries from the child categories.

Is there any way to not have that happen?

What I needed is to have the categories in this order:
CERT News
FAQ
Battalion 01 and so on.

I was hoping for LAFD Battalions to just be a header for the Battalion ## categories, so they would appear in the order above, and to have each battalion's entries only appear when you clicked on them.

Hi!

Serendipity version starting with 1.2 now have an option to configure categories to not include the entries of childcategories.

OK. I deleted the parent category for now.

When version 1.2 is available, will I be able to add a parent category, and change current categories to be children of that parent category?

Hi!

Yes, you can simply create a new category, and then edit the child category to set its parent to that new category - entry associations will remain.

Best regards,
