can this be installed on windows?

I have installed phpdev on my computer and was under the impression that that would allow me to set up a server on my windows xp computer and create a blog to upload to a site.

I was told that tar.gz is a linux/unix type format and that i would need linux/unix to create a blog.

Is it not possible to do it using only windows??

If so, any assistance given would be greatly appreciated,]

S9Y works perfectly on windows when using apache webserver. You can uncompress .tar.gz with Winzip.

that is NOT a linux/unix type format, that is an open source format.

you can freely open these kind of files with 7zip and you can download it from http://www.7-zip.org/ it is free and open source
