New Plugin: Google Analytics
Sure. I activated the plugin at my site: http://tool.ormus.info/
See the validation result: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http% ... us.info%2F
It's the & in the (tracked) paypal link which should be escaped to & (even in urls).

Aloha,
I'm interested in getting google analytics installed onto my blog and using this plugin to help me. The order of things I need to do are :
1) Set up my google account
2) Download this plugin
3) Upload the plugin to the plugin directory
4) Then what?
Sorry I'm pretty new to this sort of thing.
Edit: I've tried to manually add the google code just to test it but cannot find the right place to put it. I have everything built in tables so </body> is not shown. Here is the code for a sample page:
<<table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" border="0" style="width: 100%;"><tbody><tr><td style="width: 100%;"><img src="http://satoauto.com/images/Field_work_banner.jpg" /></td></tr><tr><td style="width: 100%;">In this, the 4th video in the series, Jack and Chloe race to find Lost Boy's wherabouts. Their journey takes them to an abandoned office used by the terrorists and they get help from an unexpected source. </td></tr><tr><td style="width: 100%;"><font color="#ff0000"><i><b>Download Here:</b></i></font> <b><a href="http://satoauto.com/video/Field_Work%20.wmv"><i>Field Work</i></a></b></td></tr></tbody></table>

Hi!
Uhm, google analytics is pretty easy. In step 4 you just configure the adsense plugin after you installed it through the serendipity plugin manager in your backend. There you enter your google account api.
But I don't understand your source code, what does this have to do with google analytics?!?!
Regards,
Garvin

Yeah, that's what I thought! Easy! The instructions on the google analytics site say to: "Copy and paste the code segment into the bottom of your content, immediately before the </body> tag of each page you are planning to track."garvinhicking wrote:Hi!Uhm, google analytics is pretty easy.

I cant find </body> in my code? I tried placing it before the </tbody> but google didn't register it as tracking any pages.
I was trying to add the code to a few pages just to test it out. Believe me I do feel like an idiot cause this should be so easy!
Aloha,
Colin

Ok I think I finally got the plugin to install, and on the config screen I placed my JS code. I put the user accont (from the code) in the appropriate section and hit save.kleinerChemiker wrote:you dont need to insert anything. only install and configure the plugin.
I went back to some pages in the "edit" mode to see if the code had been installed and found it on one page only. At the top of the administration page (in the blue border) the following text was displayed:
Warning: main(/home/u5/colin1/html/cblog/plugins/serendipity_event_google_analytics/lang_en.inc.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/u5/colin1/html/cblog/plugins/serendipity_event_google_analytics/serendipity_event_google_analytics.php on line 12
Warning: main() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/u5/colin1/html/cblog/plugins/serendipity_event_google_analytics/lang_en.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='.::/home/u5/colin1/html/cblog/:/home/u5/colin1/html/cblog/bundled-libs/') in /home/u5/colin1/html/cblog/plugins/serendipity_event_google_analytics/serendipity_event_google_analytics.php on line 12
Any thoughts on what this means?

I'm not entirely hopeless, but this makes me feel like the dumbest person around.
I have Sparticus installed.... then what? I've looked at the "wrench" icon and found the config screen, but I am at a loss as to how to get it to display a list of plugins to choose, or even where to manually type in a specific plugin or locaton.
The settings shown are as follows:
File/Mirror location (XML metadata) : Netmirror.org
File/Mirror location (files): SourceForge.net
Owner of downloaded files: blank
Permissions downloaded files: Blank
Permissions downloaded directories:blank
Sorry for all the simple questions, but try to imagine how stupid I feel!
