Post Dated Entries Feature or Plugin

Post by cody »

Is there available in the form of a feature or plugin the ability to set a future date and time for an article to be posted automatically? It would be nice to create an entry now, and have it post on a cetain date or time. This would be fantastic for holiday related entry, or for posting entries if one is away on holiday (vacation).
I actually thought I saw this somewhere, but I suppose it was a feature of some other software.

Thanks,

Cody

Hi!

You don't even need a plugin, serendipit yoffers this in the core already. Just change the timestamp in the input field below the entry title. :-)

We have that since Serendipity 0.1 :-)

I have version 1.0.4 and put a later date and time in the timestamp field than the actual date/time. I also selected Publish intead of Draft in the dropdown box. The entry posted immediately, but with the timestamp/date that I put in the field. What am I doing wrong?

Hi!

When you save the entry with a future timestamp, and save it, it should not show up on the frontend for you!

The only way how an entry in the future can be shown in the frontned is if you set the option in s9y configuration "Show future entries" to "Yes". You must set this to "No" then, this is the defualt setting.

Best regards,
Garvin

Show future entries was set to yes. That was the problem. Thank you.
