Hi!

Copy the serendpity files and subdirectories into the root directory and install from there

Hi Garvin,

have had such problems too, when installing in a root.

S9y is asking for set CHMOD for root and that is not possible - may be this is the problem...

So if using a shared server this might be not possible?

Yes, s9y requires write privileges to the directory it should be installed in. Many FTP clients support changing those via the '.' directory link.

You could also move an installation from /serendipity to / after installation according to the descriptions in our FAQ, if you can't initially install it into a subdirectory.
