I've been using Serendipity for almost a year and I had no idea what the Advanced Options were because they don't display on my New Entry screen. I saw them for the first time when I was logged into somebody else's Serendipity blog.
When I use Firefox, my New Entry screen looks like this (screenshot): http://www.duchessjane.com/advoptions.jpg
In IE, it looks like this:

I'm assuming it's a missing file or some problem from the original installation, but I have a year's worth of stuff I don't want to lose and I don't have much knowledge of how this thing actually works "behind the scenes".
Any suggestions?
Advanced Options don't display in New Entry form

I don't think it's just a plugin based on the fact that the brand new installations of Serendipity I'm doing on other people's domains already have the Advanced Options right from the start, with no additional plugins installed. Same version as I am running. I'm not trying to make additional fields show up in an entry, I just want the option of Sticky Postings and hiding from RSS and such. My new entry form shows the title "Advanced Options" but then lists nothing under it.

Hi!
gamersea is right - only when you have a plugin installed that makes use of "advanced options" something will be there. Many people install the "Extended Optiosn for Entries" plugin which will put things there. You could check out that event plugin.
Don't be afraid, there seems to be nothing wrong in your blog. You just don't use a plugin that puts itself there.
Best regards,
Garvin
