Fantastico in the near future?

Post by WebTrooper »

So, I got Fantastico installed as part of my web hosting service - by far, one of the coolest features available. You know, the cpanel tool that automatically installs over 40 of the most popular open source scripts? Yeah, that one.

Anyways, I was a little surprised that Serendipity isn't one of those scripts. Do you see it being assimilated anytime in the near future? Has it ever been considered?

b2evolution, Nucleus, pMachine (free virsion) and WordPress are all there. Personally, I think Serendipity blows them all away! And I bet the Fantastico makers would be happy to incorporate Serendipity into their line up.

I've thought about it, but never imagined it was something you could or needed to apply for.

I'll make contact with them when 0.8 is out :)

I havn't had time to look into it yet but I might be able to add it to mine manually. I'll give it a shot as soon as I get a chance. I definately want Serendipity to be part of the package somehow.

Yeah, I would love to see that. Tell us about your progress and if we could help - I've never looked into such sort of software.

S9y as Part of Fantastico Script

Post by vavai »

Garvin,

I think it should be a good idea to make S9y as part of Fantastico auto install script. It will make an easy way to install s9y into web hosting.

Just a few reason. S9y contains about 10 MB in size after extracted the zip file. We must upload it before we going to installation process. If we can cut this process, consider about a few simple step to make s9y online in our website.

I know, I didn't find any trouble with manually install s9y, but if we can provide an easy way to install s9y, it would be better.

Best Regards,

Vavai

Hi!

Yes, if someone with Fantastico knowledge can integrate it, that would be cool.
