Forum via https?

Post by hanno »

The s9y-forums are only available through http, I don't like typing in passwords in non-encrypted pages.

Can we have the forums via https, maybe with cacert? (Imho it wouldn't mind if we have it only with a wrong cert if lacking IPs are the problem)

hi hanno, i was working on this. but unfortunately i fucked up the cert we got for free from godaddy.com - but it expires soon anyway.

so i could custom-make one and people would have to live with warnings, unless somebody supplies me with a free cert :)

Well, a cert with warnings is better than not having https at all. As I already said, I'd suggest cacert, which is a free, community-based ca. Although their certs aren't included in browsers yet, they are working on this. And it's anyway easier to import one root-cert for cacert than clicking away warnings everywhere.
