I am using the latest stable. Looks like you need to do the following :

Go to serendipity_config.inc.php

And then set $serendipity['use_iframe'] = false ;

As the client browsers like chrome, Firefox, Edge, brave are getting rid of iframes

No new or edit functionality exists

Just tried to add a new entry to https://www.nk.ca:8443/blog/ and found myself without the ability to add a new entry or edit an edit. Was able to do so last week. Pointers please. Tried this in Firefox on 2 machines and chrome.
