WYSIWYS editor in Firefox

Hello,

I'm not able to edit or create new entried in IE7 any more, still not sure why. And in Firefox the WYSIWYG editor doesn't appear to work. I've installed TinyMCE editor but when I edit or start a new entry in Firefox I just get bog standard editor.

Hi!

Check your personal settings in s9y and see if WYSIWYG there is still enabled / set to "Yes"?

Hi!

Above the standard entry editor, do you see any buttons like "B", "I" or so?

Are you sure you installed tinymce properly? You need to enter the right paths and follow the instructions of that plugin. You might want to remove it to get the original WYSIWYG editor back...?

Howdy,

OK, I've reverted back to the standard WYSIWYG editor and everything is fine. I still cannot open the Edit Entry page in IE7, so no idea about that one. I have tried installing the other editors and entering what I think is the correct path, but still no joy, so I'll stick with the standard editor.

One thing that is a bit annoying. I have written articles in Word 2007, when I paste them into an entry they look fine in the WYSIWYG editor but different on the actual blog (the lines are double spaced, the font is different and the links are just bold and not blue/purple). I've tried many ways to get the text (which is slightly formated and has links) from Word to the editor without any trouble but have so far failed.

Atm, the only way around this is re-formatting it in the editor.

Any tips? Is there another way around this (post via an emai?)? Or is this not possible?

Hi

I've always found pasting stuff from word to be very problematic. Word inserts so many special characters. You would have fewer problems with a plain text editor like notepad.

Word is problematic. Its HTML export is Microsoft's attempt to take over the web through obsfucation.

That said, if you export the Word document as HTML, then paste that into the non-WYSIWYG editor, it should work as expected.

The double-spacing could come from the nl2br plugin. Try disabling it as a test.

The formatting is probably incompatibility between Word and the WYSIWYG plugin. No blog I've seen has a Word WYSIWYG input.
