I am very excited about the Podcast feature and it almost work for me. When I create a new entry with this tag: [podcast: "http:/www.damncheapwebsites.com/mp3/dancing-daughter.mp3"] this is what I get in the draft: a swf file player that moves when I click "play" and the link to my mp3 file which is external to my Blog. I don't hear any music and when I roll my mouse over the link, I see that it is looking for my external domain/file WITHIN my blog domain.

Then when I publish the entry, I see NONE of that but rather the actual podcast tag.

What am I doing wrong?

Usually you only need to enter a relative path to the podcast file, not an absolute one.

Hi Garvin,

Been trying to use the method you suggested. If I add a [podcast: "/blah"] tag to the post, the podcast plugin picks it up and shows the file in RSS.

But using only your method the Podcast does not seem to add the file to the RSS... have I missed something?

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well

At the end of your method, you say:

Now the only thing that the podcast plugin does is to put a link into your RSS file so that itunes and other software downloads the mp3 file automagically.

When I try using your method, the podcast plugin does not activate and no file is enclosed in the RSS. I can only get it to do this if I also include a [podcast] tag to the file in the entry body (or anchor tag, if using this method with the plugin).

But only using your method, no link to file in RSS. Did you miss a step in the instructions, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi!

Which configuration options did you set for the podcast plugin? You should not enable the use of the [podcast] tag but let it use the HTML -style tags.

Ok, I sussed it out - by looking at the code for the plugin. I had created a field called Podcasts (uppercase P) - and had then edited your example code to reflect the change in field name).

But did not think to do same in the podcast plugin!
