SPLAT! my new grunge theme and template is now complete and available to download from my themes site.

SPLAT! features Dynamic Text Replacement in the header, is a Serendipity 1.1 theme with the navigation configurable in the style manager and is fully backwards compatible through v0.9. Static pages and special pages are also fully styled.

Hope you like it :-)

Hi Dave!

Wow, that's a nice and unique looking theme. I'm in love with it, I suppose. ;)

I don't even dare to ask but...may I put it to spartacus? :-)

Best regards,
Garvin

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Wow! (And by that I don't mean World Of Warcraft :wink:) This should be playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as a background sound (kidding, of course).

Great job, Dave.

Dave I can see you must have given up on the cricket coz this is an awesome theme. I come back from holidays and you've come up with another great theme.

Well done.

Isn't that more a "White Stripes - You are pretty good looking for a girl"-theme? ;-)

This theme doesn't work?

Hi,

I get errors that the header is not working? Also it is not wide enough to cope with YouTube playlists:

Try it at my blog and you see what I mean:

http://www.vandegoor.com

use the Theme selector on the right side!

EDIT: Somehow/whatever reason it does work, but HOW the heck to I control the font SIZE of the top bar? Also it doesn't wokr to well when generating titles for entries?

I know: I have a rather big blog title, but hey, I like it...

Hi Hgoor

I'm not exactly sure whether you've got SPLAT! working on your blog or not but I'll do my best to answer your queries :-).

When I went to have a look on your site I saw 'error: the server could not create this heading image'. Unfortunately, I can't duplicate this as all the servers I have access to create the images OK. However, if this error persists you could try this from excitris.com. You'll need to add the code to templates/splat/dtr/heading.php not image.php as it states on their website. You can also change the font size of the generated text images in heading.php - it's currently set to 40px. If you want to resize the main heading you can change this in the template's style.css in the following section

Code: Select all

a.homelink1,
a.homelink1:hover,
a.homelink1:link,
a.homelink1:visited,
#header h1 {
	color: #16425E;
	letter-spacing: .5pt;
	text-transform: uppercase;
	padding-left: 6px;
	margin-top: 0px;
	text-decoration: none;
	font: normal 70px "Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold", impact, verdana, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;
}
change 'font: normal 70px' to whatever size you want.

c_dee - nice work. I wanted to point out that your google ad seems to be breaking some of your templates on your theme site. The first time I accessed the site, it defaulted to square 1.0.1. Looks fine in FF, but in my IE6, the side bars do not display until after all the content. While tools are limited to test css changes in IE, I think an overflow:hidden on #content will fix that particular issue. Below is a link to the tool I used to see if this would work.... it is not nearly as powerful as the extensions available for FF, but it is better than nothing.

Thanks for the info. To be honest I'm not too much of a hero when it comes to altering files etc.. so I probably will just disable the theme or leave it as is...

Hi

@owen - thanks for letting me know :-) I don't visit my site in windows very often. I've sorted it out. Thanks for taking the time to check out a solution too :-)

@hgoor - I'll send you a replacement heading.php. I'd be grateful if you'd try it - it might fix your 'error: the server cannot make this header image' and be useful for any other user who gets the same error in future.

cheers

Hi

As the fix to this error doen't seem to have any adverse effect when the dtr is working, I've updated the zip on my themes site - . You can download it from http://themes.daves.me.uk/index.php?ser ... 2&file=42].
