The visitor stats Serendipity provides have stopped showing up for us (www.theagitator.net.) Is this a host issue, or has something on the Serendipity side?

Sadly the statistics plugin for visitors in s9y is under-developed and currently not maintained. The plugin has some issues (one of them being performance drops), which no developer has yet looked into.
So chances are that it might be related to the plugin. However if you did not upgrade s9y or install new plugins, it should not simply stop working, and in that case maybe a database corruption could be the problem?
