english:
Searchplugins for Browser Firefox, Netscape und Opera. Tested versions: Firefox 1.0.5 and 1.5.0.7, Netscape 7 and 8.1, Opera 8.01.

I wrote instructions in english and german how to instal searchplugins for your browser to easily search your serendipity blog. You can read it in both languages (for english just scroll down) on my blog and there you can download example files.

I hope someone can use this for his own blog, just change my url in yours. I also hope, that my instructions are understandable.

deutsch:

So, this allows someone to add my blog to the list of search engines? Or does it provide a search toolbar that searches my blog?

Considering my blog, it's hard to imagine someone wanting to search my blog. But I can imagine it being useful on Carl's pages.

It provides a search toolbar that searches your blog.

Here a further example

You see the google search plugin as Opera, Firefox and Netscape come out with and two plugins I added.

The only information you need to make your own search plugin ist the site´s search string.

It uses conventional Serendipity search, you just have to change my url in yours.

This is related and just as useful, for Firefox users - may be mostly "Powerusers" but anyone should use Smart Keywords http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/smart-keywords - no need for search box with this trick so great for those who dont like 1 more box in GUI. Keep these bookmarks in 1 "Quick-search" folder or they might be hard to find again. May be you remember "g" is for Google but forget "sf" is for S9Y forum.
