Problem with hidden values in Plugin Setup

Post by Kaya »

I wanted to use the amazon-plugin but had some problems with large lists of ASINS, because I always got a timeout in my browser while Serendipity was getting the information from amazon. So I decided to grow my asin list step by step, so the Amazon plugin should only ask for new entries.

But this didn't help. Then I found out that the hidden fields of the plugins always have a value of "" in the plugin configurator of serendipity (I looked at the html-source of my browser). This seems to me to be a bug.

I already checked the amazon-Plugin, but I am rather sure, that the problem is within the configurator.

Maybe somebody can check this and help out?

Hm...since the amazon plugin is not distributed within serendipity, did you already try to ask/mail the original creator of the plugin? I don't use it, so maybe he can help...

I don't yet know how the hidden fields are used, but I will try to look into that next week! (If the author himself can't help earlier, that is...)#

Thank you for your reply, I will write an e-mail to the author, maybe he can help. Although I really have the feeling the the problem lies in serendipity.

The plugin uses the hidden values for caching the information it got from Amazon. And when I want to change the List of ASINs (Books), this information gets lost.
