Hi - We are quite new to the word of "Blogging" and just recently set up a blog for our trading community in Forex (Foreign Exchange - currency trading) where we're looking to give folks the ability to be alerted via cell phone or email on blog messages. Most of our notes are trade idea setups that occur intraday so there are a handful of people looking to receive these.
How do you enable this feature on blog posts as I see below? Any advice helpful.

Hi!
You could set up a mailing list and use the "Mail entries" event plugin, which sends a mail to one (or more) mail addresses whenever you publish an entry.
Best regards,
Garvin

Hi and thanks for responding to request on this. I'm really do like this particular layout for posting replies and having a checkbox with the "Notify me when a reply is posted" and want to emulate the same for ours.
Our blog which I'm starting up is at:
www.hi4x.com/blog
I'll make a user id and password as "serendipity" and wondering if you can take a look and offer any suggestions we can bring to our community using the Serendipity tools as a moderator.
From your earlier comment, where can I find this plug-in tool for the group mailings to our community and install it?
Any help you can provide is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Derek

Hi!
Sadly I can't really give you conceptual suggestions or ideas for your blog. I enjoy to help you ask any questions you have or tell you if what you want is possible and how to achieve it, but I can't flesh out the ideas for you. That would take me way to much time.
You can find that plugin by going to the admin section of Serendipity, go to "Configure plugins" and then click on "Click here to install an event plugin". There browser the plugin listing and click on the install icon next to a plugin labelled "Send entries via E-Mail".
BTW, you should think about upgrading to Serendipity 1.0 - 0.9.1 is really somewhat older now. You can easily upgrade, the FAQ on
www.s9y.org gives you an easy pointer on how to do that.
HTH,
Garvin
