Using "enter" as first line of extended body

Post by dale »

Please excuse me if this had already been reported.

I am using v0.9.1; my browser is IE6. When I use the "enter" key as the first line of the extended body, the "enter" key would go into effect, but disappear from the extended body field when I save the post.

So if I want an empty line between the entry body and the extended body, I have to press the "enter" key every time I edit the post.

Edit: the same deal with using "enter" as first line of the entry body, and the same thing when using "Preview" instead of "Save".

I believe this is the way it's meant to work. We've seen this before, anyway; I'm just not sure if it's a Serendipity or MySQL thing.

You could manually insert a
or
at the beginning of the entry. You might also try adding to insert a non-breaking space.

If you're using the WYSIWYG editor, you'll have to switch it to manual mode before you can do either of those things.
