Two New Themes Available to Download

Hi all,

Today I'm releasing 2 new themes, actually one with 2 color options, a blue one and a green one, but you'll figure that out when you see them. I've switched the left and center columns, and generally played around with the styles. If anyone would like to download and use the themes my only request is that you leave my little tag in the footer in place. Also, feel free to modify these themes to suit your needs. They are currently on the my front page, but are also listed under the Serendipity category.

Themes are here!

Any problems or requests please post here, or comment on my site.

Cheers

Hi Garvin,

That would be great, it would be really interesting to see how many people liked them enough to use.

Hi all,

In the couple of days since I released these themes I've been totally blown away by the response. I didn't expect these themes to ever be anything more than the look for my personal site. It seems these themes have already made their way onto a couple dozen websites, and the comments appearing have been enlightening to say the least. Luckily I don't have an ego or get too upset too quickly.

The most common observation seems to be that some people would like me to add some different header images. To these people I will do so, and if anyone has any ideas of backgrounds or images they might like to see on the header please let me know.

I've also been asked how to change the comments to something a little less like the default theme. I was also wanting to make this prettier but at the time didn't really know how. I've learned a lot in the last couple of weeks, and will make an effort to do something about that. If anyone would like to share a comments.tpl that looks nicer please email it to me or post the code. I really would like to keep developing these themes.

Finally, one person asked if I could make a pink theme, actually I like the idea , I just don't know much about what shades of pink to work with.

Cheers
Carl

You're very welcome, I just wish I could see your blog as it meant to be seen. Unfortunately I don't have the Arabic language settings installed.

Nice theme and thanks for letting everyone use it. I switched to using one of them and can't get two columns on one side. I don't guess it's just your theme because I tried to switch one from the right side to the left side and when I save it just goes back to the right side. I just can't change any of my sidebar plugins from one side to the other but I can move them up and down. Any ideas and I assume that's how you get the double column!

davecjr: How exactly do you change your plugin alignment? You must first change the dropdown from left to right, and then click on the "save" button below the plugins.

If that doesn't work, try to check the checkbox of one of the plugins you changed, and then click save...

Garvin

Thanks Garvin. I had changed them lots of tmes before and never did the check box I thought but that solved my big problem! I thought I had only used the check box in the past to delete.

usually if i want to find a shade. First i look for prebuild color palettes. If I'm not able to find a good one, which is rare. I try out these websites (color wheel 1.1, Color Mixer and Color Blender) where u can set a base pink color and it will tell me which other colors to use.

Colors, and update

What a brilliant set of links, I'll go and try them soon, I never knew these sorts of sites even existed.

Also, for anyone watching my blog or interested in these themes, I have updated them to work with the freetag plugin, and also made changes with the way comments are displayed. I had used the default comment styles, but was 'encouraged' by a few people to make additional changes. The updated zips are available to download now.
