When updating the plug-ins after upgrading Serendipity to the current version, I got the following error message ...

(copying back the "old" plug-ins from the backup removed the error for the time being, but a plug-in update still does lead to the same error)

That appears to be a message from SourceForge, see
https://www.qwant.com/?client=opensearc ... e%22&t=web
when accessing a project's file listings.
Probably in your serendipity_event_spartacus settings change File/Mirror location (files) from SourceForge.net to github.com and also have github.com for File/Mirror location (XML metadata).
