Strict Standards: Non-static method serendipity_plugin_api::hook_event() should not be called statically

Hi folks,
I (and a lot of other s9y blogs) are encountering the error below:
Strict Standards: Non-static method serendipity_plugin_api::hook_event() should not be called statically in /home/domain/webapps/domainx/website/include/functions_config.inc.php on line 499
This happened all of the sudden. I did not do any update for s9y or plugin update. Any help would be awesome!
