Internal Server Error after upgrade to 2.3.4

I had upgraded from 2.1.4 to 2.3.2 because off having issues with the non working "Submit" button. As a result I wasn't able to logon to the backend anymore while the frontend was still fully operable. Today I made an upgrade to 2.3.4 and the upgrade assistant recognized that and showed everything in green. Thus I executed it and now receive an error message:
"Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."
I already overwrote everything with my 2.3.2 backup but that didn't change a thing. I also edited the serendipity_config.inc.php since it still said 2.3.2. But after having entered 2.3.4 to it the error stays the same.
I don't have any access to server logs, PHP configuration and so, but only to my user's FTP directory and so am not able to check for logged errors.
*EDIT* After having deleted everything from the directory and having uploaded my backup I now see:
Index of /blogbox
and a list of directories, showing only "templates".
When I click on it, it says: Keine Schreibrechte für Verzeichnis /home/.../blogbox/templates_c/. Bitte korrigieren
But when I check "templates_c" I see that I do have permissions and the directory contains all files as my backup does.
