Register/Add- User Plug in

I wonder if this plug-in would be best to have a 'register' link appear under the 'Author' log-in that would take you to a register page for those wanting to register.
If the plug in for register was turned off than the 'register' link would dissappear.
Currently the plug in is not functioning properly as it takes you back to a page where you think you can log-in but it is actually to register causing much confusion. I tried to change this but was unable to.
