Language Problem

Post by syam2202 »

Hi,

I installed twice serendipity 1.5.2 full & lite version and each time I selected the language English. After the installation, the language at serendipity is Danish! or German (Not Sure)? Changing it at the admin panel takes no change.

Using phpmyadmin, The language, defined at database serendipity_config.lang is 'en'.

How do I Check the language setting in "Personal Settings". coz' i do not understand the interface!
I tried changing to other language ... at certain time, it showed the English version, but when i open the page, it turned to that language(?). I tried changing the template ... same thing happened.

What can I do? :(

Regards

Hi!

If you install with the "normal" installation mode, serendipity enables the automatic language detection of your browser, which is supposedly the reason your language changes. Go to the s9y configuration and there, disable the option for "Automatische Spracherkennung" (automatic language detection).

Or you could also check your browser configuratin and make sure that english has precedence!

Hi!

I think the easiest way is to configure your browser to not use a german preference, then you'll be able to visit the page normally, and then you can access all backend option labels.

You could also install s9y using the expert installation, then you could properly set the option on installation already.
