Cannot save configuration?

I may not be related, but this wasn't a problem before I upgraded tot 1.5.2.
The webpage at http://.../serendipity_admin.php? might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error.
Plugin settings like Spam Protector can be saved, but those from like the Recaptha and Spamblock (Bayes) cannot.
As far as I am aware I did not change any file permissons.
The upload and upgrade to 1.5.2 was without errors.
Verify Installation Integrity: All required files verified
-> Serendipity 1.5.2 en PHP 4.4.8-0.dotdeb.0

Hi!
This seems to be caused by mod_Security on your webserver. Talk to your hoster and ask them how to change/bypass/disable that.
Best regards,
Garvin

Hi,
My webhost just did let me know mod_Security isn't used.
My website is now hosted using PHP/4.4.8-0.dotdeb.0 en MySQL4.1.15. It is not most newest versions, but it meets the minimum requirements?

Hi!
Hm, but the error message seems to come from your hoster, not serendipity. Please ask him to introspect the CGI/Apache error log to get a clue what the error on your setup could mean exactly...

Garvin

Hi,
while awaiting the answer from my web host, an additional question:
will I, my site, benefit if I migrated the domain to a server with newer versions of Apache en MySql?

Hi!
Which version of MySQL are you running? If its older than MySQL 4.1, you would benefit from an upgrade.
PHP4 is no longer supported, but the benefits for s9y on running on PHP5 are mostly about some new features (minor ones though) and a minor performance benefit (maybe 10 to 15%). But if you have the choice to migrate, I would always go to a provider with most recent stable versions...
HTH,
Garvin

Last night my webhost updated the server to MySQl 5 en PHP 5.2.12-0.dotdeb.0.
The problem is solved now (although I'm not sure the upgrade was the solution, but in I'm happy).
