Firebug and/or the CSS reveals "verdana,helvetica,sans-serif".

Phew. I don't know, it's some custom non-free font-type that the original designer used, I believe.
I think Don Chambers redid the logo in good, maybe he knows it by heart?

I do not know what font the word "serendipity" is ... I did not re-do that part of the logo. In fact, I really didn't redo the logo at all - I reconstructed the banner because I wanted to increase the width of all the serendipity sites.
While I have not had time, my intent was to create a template/theme site controlled by the developer community. The site, if/when I would have ever gotten to it would have been entirely powered by serendipity itself, not a custom app or straight HTML.
