About the plug-plugin: Maybe in 2k11 we could instead use a CSS to hide this plugin?

Then for people who use other templates, the notice would stay there. IMO it really helps spreading users, so ideally I wouldn't want to disable it, and people might really use something different than 2k11 ;)

I'm fine with the gravatar plugin shipped by default, but probably not activated by default (due to fetching remote/foreign files and possible problems this might create).

Might be a good idea do solve that with CSS.

Is gravatar that often critical? I thought it was one of our most stable and best working plugins (one of those that gets often used but doesn't have support requests here).

Personally, I'm totally fine with “Hey, if you don't like it, just disable the plugin or switch to the text version that it offers as a plugin option.”

Also, it might be confusing for users if a plugin they have installed just disappears in 2k11.

Hm, yeah, that might be confusing. But it is really too ugly to just put it into 2.0 like that :/

Is it an option to change the default settings of the plugin from “show logo, hide text” to “hide logo, show text”? Garvin?

Hi!

I'd be open and fine with this!
