Scalability?

Hello,
I am new to s9y, as well as PHP...I've done a bit of Perl and a fair amount of Java in the past though. I know PHP can scale reasonably well if done right, but I am curious as to how much traffic s9y can handle while staying very responsive. I know it depends a great deal on how much data is there to be displayed, but has anyone done any kind of load testing to see how well it scales up? I imagine the database connectivity (I am on mysql) would be a big bottleneck, but I could be wrong.
As a side note, nice job on making a very easily installed blog...that was one of the more painless installations I've seen.
