Can someone tell why you might need this plugin: Cronjob scheduler...I understand what it is used for...But, what plugins and what do they do that might require this Cronjob scheduler plugin?

The popfetcher and RSS aggregator plugins use that for periodic updates.

A serendipity plugin that fetches emails from a pop account and puts it into the blog as a blog article.
