Several issues with entry list of inherited site

Another agency created the following site, and I now maintain it:

http://www.studentelevate.com/high_school/blog/

I can't figure out several things:

1-Why is only one entry appearing on http://www.studentelevate.com/high_school/blog/ in Internet Explorer when I have indicated that 10 entries should appear (using the this link: http://www.studentelevate.com/serendipi ... figuration)? More entries appear in Firefox.

2-Why are only entries from the "High School" category appearing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

MC

Hi!

Phew. That's very hard to tell. Your agency seems to have made many changes to Serendipity that we cannot differentiate without accessing your files via FTP.

You should best ask the agency what they did.

I only see one entry in both Firefox AND IE, and I can't find a way to click on any blog entry?!
2-Why are only entries from the "High School" category appearing?
That might be because they used the Plugin "Start Page category"?

Garvin

Thanks, Garvin.

If I give you ftp info, can you take a look? Unfortunately, the agency isn't being very helpful. If not, that's cool. I'll keep pestering them.

Thanks again.

Hi!

Hm, usually, if you paid the agency to code something, it would be their responsibility to fix issues, and you can't really expect to make someone here on this forums to do free support for something that others have received money for.

Having said that, I can offer you to take a look at what's happening and how hard it would be to make things different. Maybe then I'll even find the content, because nowhere in the links you gave I can actually see ANY blog entry :-D

Best regards,
Garvin

I'm not even asking the agency to actually fix it. I'd just like someone tell me where to look to try and figure this out (if possible). I'm by no means asking you to do it.

Here's the ftp info if you have a chance to look at it:

host: www.studentelevate.com
user: xxx
pass: xxx

Then select studentelevate.com

Thanks.

Hi!

You'll definitely need to get back to the agency. I just checked your site out - they do not use Serendipity the way it was intended, they wrote their own routines to access what you entered into serendipity.

Serendipity ships its own template system which would allow you to do those things. The way the agency implemented it bypasses all of that. This is not generally bad, Serendipity can be used like that, but then you'Re on your own, since it's no longer the serendipity frontend that you're adapting but something completely self-coded.

Best regards,
Garvin
