I guess with IE7 being an automatic XP upgrade from microsoft most users will be using it soon - except maybe the corporate users. Interestingly, my stats showed just over 50% of my visitors are from the U.S. with a third of them on corporate networks. So we probably won't get rid of the dreadful IE6 for some time.

I do, by the way, agree that our browser stats are a little distorted by the Serendipity userbase's computer literacy - and good common sense!

As you say Carl, the fall off in use of 800 x 600 displays does mean that we have a larger canvas to design on which is great but, equally, a liquid full width design looks distorted on my macbook pro's 1440 by 900 screen which creates some new design problems. We also need to think more about font sizes, the dot pitch required to achieve such hi-res displays means fonts render much smaller on screen than I've wanted them too in some designs.

Dave I totally agree, I have my monitor set to 1280x1024 (bad eyesight is a curse) but I also bought one of the latest CRT monitors a year ago and its has dot-pitch is probably similar to a macbook pro, and like you, I sometimes struggle to read fonts. If you've come up with any solutions that you think we should try to make a standard across Serendipity templates let us know. I'd be happy to update all my templates to any standard we agree on.

I always thought AOL uses NS ..? Well, however also have some bigger NS numbers, but that's not the rusty NS versions which are really quirky.
