standard categories for users

Hi Garvin

In 2006, I asked for the feature to give certain authors a standard category as a config option in admin/users.

I know I could find a way to create a nearby behavior inside the user/group administration, but maybe this could be something for future of s9y 1.4?!

Any updates for this?

Categories are set up as our users' blogs.
So the ability to limit who has access to which category would be great from a security perspective.

The ability to set the categories in the "Manage Groups" administrative area would be ideal.

Hi tpost!

Your question seems unrelated - you can already give read/write permissions for each category to each usergroup.

What Timbalu asked was to indicate a startcategory that was used in the category dropdown, when one writes a new entry. So that an author does not start to write an entry in "No Category" but in "His Category".
