I created my Supersized Blog Sunday

Post by Russell »

Hi,

I was so excited on Sunday when I found this site that I just created a blog. I have lots of questions but most will wait. My blog is primarily for my photos. Blogger was just too difficult to maintain, and this one is really fun.

I look forward to learning.

1. Am I limited to the plugins that the Admin installs, or is there a way to add my own?

2. Is the a way to delete the Ads, or is that revenue to keep the site free? What would it cost to remove the ads?

3. I realize S9Y is beta, but will I lose anything I create with each upgrade?

Hi Russel!

Glad you enjoy serendipity! :)

1. On supersized hosting you are limited to those plugins, yes. If you install your own Serendipity on your own host, you can choose from about 30 more external plugins and easily develop your own plugins. Because of security reasons, you will not be able to do this on supersized, at least last that I know.

2. I can't answer that, since I'm not affiliated with supersized, but I am quite sure that you cannot delete the ads.

3. No, your entries are holy to us. We will do our best that you will not ever loose your data. This has not ever happend in any release since 0.1. :-)

4. About your timezone: Enter the configuration screen and search for "Server Time Offset". Ther you will also see which current time it is in Germany, and then you can enter the Offset there.

HTH,
Garvin
