Just re-installed serendipity v0.5 and found I cannot "view extended entry" to a submission. I get:
"
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /serendipity/archives/xxxx.html"
-what permissions should I set the directories to?
-where is the installation Help file?
I am using an external linux/apache host.

Unable to "view extended entry" -what permissions?
check your .htaccess file - try and disable rewrite in the configuration

"disable rewrites" in .htaccess makes extended vie
Thanks, Tom
"disable rewrites" in .htaccess makes extended view possible.
But what exactly are the other consequences of disabling rewrite?
