Hi,

Was looking at the supersized website via this forum.. Is the software to make serendipity a blogservice opensource? Or is there another way to get it?

I'm really intressted in the code..

The only code needed which differs Supersized.org to the simple Serendipity checkout is a small PHP script which creates the database structure for users and links a virtual directory.

All information needed for that file can be found here: http://www.s9y.org/41.html - since this part is HEAVILY reliant on your server setup, we cannot bundle it, and you will surely not be able to use the supersized.org script on your server. However this script is maybe 20-30 lines of code.

If you are still interested in it, you could ask the maintainers of supersized.org or serendipia.net

does this php script also take care of the creation of the entries in the .htaccess which I guess are needed so that blogs can be reached via username.domain.com ?

Could anyone using this provide a sample of this php file? I want to offer the same services like supersized.org on a small domain of my own for my country - which has not really been hit by the blogomania yet.

and what about all the other nice stuff supersized.org is offering like the activation code in the welcome email, etc. ? are those that standard serendipity features?

P.S. if the maintainer of supersized.org reads this: please delete my account tenaka.supersized.org I just signed up for testing and I did not find any button to sign out (cancel my blog with you)

Yes and no. The PHP script just calls s9y API methods, which create that .htaccess for theirselves.

Please contact Jannis of supersized about this privately. Since this script contains some development effort, he might not want to share it publically.

No, that's an enhancement made by supersized to its own PHP script!

in the meantime, can anyone tell me if there is another blogsoft easier suited for offering free blogging to others? I found wordpressmu, not tested it yet so far still open for proposals
