Authentication/Authorization
I am a programmer interested in using Serendipity. I wonder if you have considered separating the authentication and authorization to make it easier to integrate the blog system for a larger scale. My thought is to use something like Yale's CAS system with a large user base. I can do most of the work my self but I was interested in seeing if there are plans to change this in any real way.

Re: Authentication/Authorization
I'm sorry, this post must have slipped my eyes for some time.
Just today I implemented a "proof of concept" plugin to mirror authentication from external sources. The plugin is called 'serendipity_event_externalauth' and can be found in our CVS additionapl_plugins repository. Maybe you can use it for your work?
Regards,
Garvin
