Blessings and Peace:
I am only used to handling web content in the
HTML format, via Dreamweaver. Consequently,
my framework is WYSIWG.
Obviously S9Y (and most other blogs) operate
on an entirely different paradigm. I'm lost.
How do I add simple elements to the sidebar;
just as subscribe fields and widgets.
Thanks in advance, for all helping hands.

S9Y (and other blogs) dynamically generate most content. We recognize there is some static content you may want to display, and we provide the HTML Nugget for that purpose.
Just install one HTML Nugget plugin for each chunk of static HTML you'd like to display. In the Admin screen, configure each HTML Nugget and enter the HTML you want. It'll show up in the sidebar.
There are other plugins to provide dynamic content, too. For instance, there's a plugin allowing users to become members of your blog; this adds a signup link to your sidebar.
If you let us know which widgets you want, we may be able to point you to the plugins you can use.
