I dunno if it's just a problem that I'm having, but none of the mirrors that are on Sourceforge are working. Every mirror that I click on says, "There was a problem downloading the file from {insert mirror}. Please try a different mirror." Has it just not had time to replicate to each of the mirrors yet?

BTW, I love the new look of the site. Good work! I can't wait to try out 1.0...that is, if the download becomes available. :D

There was a problem downloading the file from belnet.dl.sourceforge.net. Please try a different mirror.

I tryed about 5 different mirrors also for the zip file... :(

I will wait.

Congratulations on the 1.0 final release - and the new site design! Especially the latter is a big improvement ;). I also like the fact that you are doing a lot of documentation, that is extremely important (and unfortunately rather rare in open source projects).

BTW, the swiss mirror worked fine for me.

Yeah, It's working for me to right now.

I am uploading it to the blogs right now.
Edit: I had a alpha version installed that was having a different plugin screen with javascript. Is it right that that have been removed again? if you update it to 1.0?

I also didn't getted a update for it.
like: do you want to update to 1.0.
I did something like that when I went from 1.03 to a alpha version.

Well, I still couldn't get it downloaded here. So, I decided to remote desktop into the server at work. I tried ghoti's suggestion to use the Swiss Puzzle mirror. It works at my office, but not here for some reason.

I'm gonna be nice and put up a mirror. Please don't hammer it....

Gamersea,

if you updated from 1.0-beta to the 1.1-alpha versions you have just performed a backward "downgrade" to 1.0. You shouldn't actually have done that. :)

Using the 1.1-alpha versions is more recent than older 1.0 versions. :)

Best regards,
Garvin

So it's correct if you go from the alpha version to the newly released: 1.0 final version you don't get a message that it's updated? and the plugins index is not with javascript on the full version?

Gamersea: If you go from 1.1 alpha to 1.0 you are DOWNGRADING! You are then replacing new files with older files.

It's like updating Windows XP with the latest Windows 2000 Service Pack. ;-))

So you should best go back to the 1.1 alpha version. It has a lot of improvments over the 1.0 version.

Best regards,
Garvin

So why does 1.0 has been released now?
Sorry, I don't understand it...
Because there is a newer version...
So I exacly should go back to the "newest" version of alpha.

Due to the sourceforge problems I have placed a copy of Serendipity 1.0 on this server, so you can all download it without problems. To fetch it please refer to the normal download page.

Enjoy Serendipity :)

Gamersea: the 1.0 version has been in "beta" status for quite some time. We've been doing design and debugging work, so when we released it, we would have a stable product with a consistently-themed support site. It's been thoroughly debugged, but the design has been harder to finalize. It is now non-beta, final, released!

However, we couldn't just sit and ignore new improvements, so we created the 1.1 branch. It has all the shiny new stuff that we haven't had a chance to debug. You can consider those improvements untested: alpha. With the non-beta, released 1.0, you shouldn't have any problems beyond configuration questions. With 1.1-alpha, you may have some bugs to report, but you get all the new improvements.

That's why you shouldn't go from 1.1 to 1.0. You're downgrading from a more advanced (but untested) version to a less advanced (but well-tested) version.
