Show emoticons in entry post

How do i display emoticons when posting an entry? maybe under the date and category field? also make it when click on it, it inserts right into the entry? thanks

There is a plugin (IIRC, serendipity_event_emoticate) that does this. It converts ASCII emotes like ;) :) :( etc.

thanks for replying, but do you mean by Markup: BBCode? i do have it installed, and i want all my emoticons to show up maybe on top of message body so when i click on it, it will insert that emoticons right into the entry. just like how it works with phpbb forum. hope that makes sense...

sorry that's the one i was talking about. i just want all the emoticons to show up right next to the entry, so i know which one i want to insert...

I have created a plugin for that reasons. It's here:

But you need to have serendipity 0.8-alpha8 (latest CVS) for it...

thanks garvin, and about all those plugins you've done, and some others in cvs, are they going to be bundled in later s9y release?

No, they are not going to be bundled. Instead we're preparing for a much cooler "click and download" installer so that you can install plugins easily via an interface. Ain't that cool?
