Emoticons

Post by schrysco »

Just got into the blog universe-- Wondering if there's any way to add our own emoticons?
I've found the folder-- /templates/default/img/emoticons/

but what controls replacing the shortcuts with the images?

I'm a bit of a newbie, so please be gentle.
thanks!

I think it's described in the README in either / or /templates - and also in the default layout.php

And also look at the 'emoticate' plugin, which does the actual transformations...

I use a hack to do it. Copy the template (s9y_root/templates) you use to a new directory with a new name. This will create a new theme, btw. The emoticons are in (s9y_root/templates/xxx/img/emoticons). If your chosen template doesn't have the emoticons directory, it's using the ones from the default theme. Overwriting the images in the emoticons directory will make your theme use a different set than the default.
