showing all categories but one not

Post by mendez »

I want to create some type of linkdump category. I only contains a link to the original article. I want to show it in a collumn on the right as a apart categeory.

This category should not be shown in the main concent and not shown in recent entries. It should be possible to comment on the articles and show who entered the item and when.

It this possible? if yes, how should i do that.

You could hide a category from the sidebar by creating a HTML nugget of links to only the categories you want to show. That means you would manually maintain that category listing.

With another plugin you could show the "recent entries" of that category only. For that you could modify the existing "recent entries" plugin...?

I'd love to see a plugin that would allow one BIG BLOG with everything in it and then have sub-blogs that have multiple categories in them to make a theme

the sub-blogs would just display certain categories and not others. some sub-blogs might include the same category

b2-evolution supports multi-blogs but the interface is TERRIBLE!! s9y could take the multi-blog market with such a plugin and continue to world domination ;-)

I am currently working on a plugin that defines custom templates per-category, and several other options.

Tuning the categories plugin to only show specific subcategories would be very easy, and I'll add it to my list.

However making sub-blogs contain categories from other subblogs will be hard to configure and realize.

I'll look into this, stay tuned to blog.s9y.org for news when the plugin is done. :)
